Bill began his investment career in 1984 and joined Boston Trust in 1989. He became a Managing Director when the company restructured as an employee-owned business in 2004, and became Executive Managing Director in 2017. In his current role, he shares overall responsibility for the day to day management of the entire firm. He is the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and a Portfolio Manager on the Balanced, Large Cap, Large Cap Value, and International Large Cap strategies. He manages the Walden Asset Management Fund (WSBFX), the Walden Equity Fund (WSEFX), and the Walden International Equity Fund (WIEFX), as well as portfolios for institutional and individual clients. He is a member of the firm’s Securities Research, Investment Policy, Corporate Governance, and ESG Research & Engagement Committees.
Bill earned a BA from Binghamton University, MA from Georgetown University, and PhD from Brown University, and was a Fulbright Scholar. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, and is a member of the CFA Society Boston and the CFA Institute.
