At Boston Trust & Investment Management Company (Boston Trust) one of our most important responsibilities to you, our customer, is the safekeeping of the nonpublic personal ("confidential") information you have entrusted to us and the use of this information in a responsible manner. We are providing you with this important notice to inform you of how Boston Trust uses and works to protect your confidential information. This notice applies to customers who have opened an account or obtained a financial service from us for personal, family or household purposes. It also applies to former customers, and to consumers who have provided confidential information to us but have not entered into a customer relationship with Boston Trust. We encourage you to read and retain this notice for your personal reference.
PROTECTING YOUR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
We value your trust and handle information about you with care. We strive to safeguard, according to prudent security standards, the confidentiality of all nonpublic personal information you provide to us. Our employees are bound by a code of ethics and other policies requiring confidential treatment of customer information. We maintain prudent physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal guidelines and that are reasonably designed to protect confidential information from unauthorized access or use.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT TO CONDUCT OUR BUSINESS
We limit the collection, use and retention of confidential information to what we believe is necessary to manage and service your account(s) more efficiently, to better understand your needs, to provide you with other products and services that may be of interest or benefit to you, or that you request and authorize, and to meet regulatory requirements. Customer information that we collect may come from the following sources:
- Information you provide to us on applications, agreements, and other forms, such as your name, address, social security number and financial information
- Information provided to us, at your request, by third parties, such as your attorney(s) or accountant(s)
- Information about your transactions with us or other financial institutions. This includes account information, such as investment account balance, investment purchase and sale history, information that you have provided to us (directly or through your agent or agents) concerning third party transfers and payments, and other information necessary to complete transactions or to provide services requested or authorized by you, such as your fax number, your e-mail address, etc.
SHARING INFORMATION OUTSIDE OF BOSTON TRUST
Please be assured that we will not share your confidential information with any company or third party outside Boston Trust, except as required or permitted by law, and according to prudent security procedures. This means, for example, that we may disclose your confidential information:
- To our service providers to help us service your accounts. Examples of service providers include trust accounting and tax service providers, insurers, and attorneys
- To respond to a subpoena or court order, judicial process, regulatory authorities or law enforcement agencies

- To pursue a sale, merger or transfer of all or a portion of a business or operating unit
- To our federal and state regulators and external auditors
- To protect against or prevent fraud and to manage risk

Whenever other companies or third parties provide services for us on our behalf, we require them by contract to maintain the confidentiality of and safeguard the information we provide to them.
This privacy policy supersedes all previously issued Boston Trust privacy policies and other confidentiality and information sharing disclosures.
We encourage you to help us protect your information and to keep it accurate. Do not disclose your social security number or your account number(s) to anyone unless that person is known by you and has a need to know. Contact your account manager should you feel that someone has gained inappropriate access to your accounts. Internet Security Procedures
Anytime you visit our website, we may collect and store the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, AOL.com.) We may use such information to measure the number of visitors to the site, however, we will not sell to or share this information with any third party.
Any message that you send to us over the Internet via e-mail will not be encrypted and consequently, possibly could be intercepted or altered by a third party. Boston Trust does not guarantee the security of information transmitted electronically over the internet. Boston Trust advises you not to communicate confidential information by e-mail. Boston Trust is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage, whether direct or indirect, caused by the use of electronic communication.
Accuracy of Customer Information
We encourage you to help us protect your information and to keep your information accurate. If you suspect someone has made unauthorized transactions on your account(s), or if you believe that any information that we have about you is not accurate, please call us anytime at 1-800-282-8782.
